New Year, New Vibe: 5 Steps to Refresh Your Personal Brand
As the New Year begins, it’s the perfect time to refresh and re-energize your online presence. Recently, in a Content Sprint within my Rising Influence community, a member shared her desire to let go of the outdated energy in her business and reconnect with a fresh vibe that aligns with where she is now.
She was ready to attract clients who align with her current offerings and release the old version of her brand.
If you’re feeling the same pull for a fresh start, here's a 5-step guide to help you walk into the New Year with a renewed presence that you can’t wait to build:
1. Revisit Your Content Pillars
Content pillars are the foundation of your online presence. They are the main topics or themes you focus on, helping guide your messaging and attract your ideal clients. It’s essential to periodically review these pillars to make sure they support your current brand and vision. Here’s how to reassess them:
Which pillars still light you up? Reflect on which topics or themes inspire you. If a pillar feels draining or no longer relevant to your mission, it might be time to let it go or shift it in a new direction.
Are your pillars attracting your ideal clients? Ask yourself if your content is speaking to the audience you want to attract. If a pillar isn’t drawing the right people, consider refocusing or replacing it.
Content creation is an energy exchange. When you're creating content, it should feel exciting and aligned with your energy. Take this opportunity to only focus on content that brings you joy and excitement—this way, your audience will feel that energy too.
When you’re clear about which content pillars align with your values and audience, you’ll feel more inspired to create content you truly enjoy.
2. Archive Outdated Posts
One of the best ways to refresh your online presence is by decluttering. Take some time to clean up your feed and archive any posts that no longer fit with your refreshed brand. Here’s how you can do this:
Go through your feed from the last two months and look for any posts that don’t resonate with the new vibe you’re creating. Archive them to eliminate any confusion.
Don’t worry about posts older than two months. Most people don’t scroll past the last 2 months of your feed, so there’s no need to overdo it. Focus on cleaning up the most recent content that could send mixed signals about your brand.
This process is for you, too. Archiving these posts will help you feel empowered and confident in your refreshed presence. Think of it like spring cleaning for your brand—get rid of the things that no longer serve you, so you can make space for new energy to enter.

3. Reintroduce Yourself
With your new content pillars in place, it’s time to reintroduce yourself to your audience. Share your refreshed brand and let them know what they can expect moving forward. Here’s how to do it effectively:
Share a personal story. People connect with people, so use your reintroduction to tell your story. Explain why you’re making this shift, what has inspired you, and what lessons you’ve learned along the way.
Highlight what they can look forward to. Let your audience know about the exciting content and changes they can expect to see. Whether it's new offerings, more engaging posts, or a more authentic presence, let them know the value they will receive by following you.
Include a Reel or video. A video (especially a Reel) is a great way to capture attention and visually communicate the changes you’re making. This will help engage your current followers and attract new ones who are aligned with your refreshed vibe.
4. Reconnect with Your Community
Now that your content is aligned with your new direction, it’s time to reach out to those who’ve already shown interest in your work. Reconnect with your close connections and let them know about your updated vision:
Reach out to people you’ve DM’d or people who’ve shown interest in your services and content. Let them know about the changes in your brand and the new energy you’re bringing to your business.
Ask for feedback. One of the best ways to strengthen your community is by asking: “What would you like to hear from me moving forward?” Engaging with your audience shows that you care about their needs and want to provide valuable content.
5. Celebrate Your Refresh
Once you’ve done the work to refresh your content and reconnect with your audience, it’s time to celebrate your progress!
Celebrate in a way that feels meaningful to you. Whether it’s putting an affirmation on your desktop, hosting a mini dance party, or treating yourself to something special, take time to acknowledge the progress you’ve made in your business.
The more you show up for your brand, the more you’ll benefit. Remember, celebrating your wins—big and small—reinforces the positive energy around your brand and attracts even more success.
